Hello down there! God in His infinite creativity brought forth wonders like this. Hikes through the woods often call to my mind visions of Tolkien’s Middle Earth. While out plumbing the depths of nature’s brilliance, it’s sometimes more shocking not to find elves and hobbits along the path.
Amid the grey Midwestern winter, baby girl and I take every opportunity to soak up the sunshine and God’s blessings, after cozying up in our favorite handknits of course.
After a very surprising and substantial snow on Halloween night which hindered trick-or-treaters from fully flaunting their costumes, Indiana has experienced a bit of a warm spell in November. Although I’m partial to snowy white frozen winters in the mountains, there’s no denying that the Midwest has it’s charms particularly when dressed up in its’ autumn colors. Throughout the month we happily enjoyed crisp afternoon strolls like this one. I pray everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Soon it will be warm enough for all sorts of outdoor fun and games, even a chess match in the park. I couldn’t resist snapping this photo while visiting my sister in Little Italy once. I felt as if two elderly tweed clad gentlemen had just stood up from this very table to stroll down the street in search of some refreshing gelato after an intense game. I pray everyone is soon able to enjoy similar quiet, warm afternoons.
